Health and the People>About this website

This is a GCSE Health and the People History revision website created by GCSE students and teachers from Prudhoe Community High School and King Edward VI School, Morpeth, Newcastle University Special Collections and Education Outreach.

Year 10 History GCSE students visited Newcastle University Special Collections to see and touch the resources held there, including the works of Vesalius, Paré, Harvey and Jenner. After experiencing a medicine through time lecture and visiting the School of Medicine at Newcastle University the students were challenged to design revision games and videos for the website.

Prudhoe Community High School conceived, wrote and created stop motion animation videos, hosted on this website for use by other GCSE students.

King Edward VI School had to conceive a revision game and present a pitch to a panel to have their game created. The ‘winning’ games were developed and are showcased on this website to provide revision tools for all.

These games were then developed by the Digital Library Services team (lib-web@ncl.ac.uk) at Newcastle University with help Jess Bradley Illustration and Character Design.

We would like to thank all students, staff and practitioners involved in this project.
